You know that you need to work out regularly. But don’t think that you’re supposed to work out until you’re blue in the face on a daily basis. That is not a truthful statement. Your muscles are going to require a lot of rest after workouts if you hope for them to grow big and strong. Your muscles don’t grow as you are working them and tearing them down during exercise, but only through rest and recuperation.

The best way to work out is to go hard for a day and then take a day to take it a little easier. For example, you could do a full workout on Monday, Wednesday and then on Friday. You could then go a tad easier on Tuesday, on Thursday and then on Saturday by walking or doing a series of pushups.

It’s also important to make sure you’re getting a proper amount of sleep. Every day we push our bodies to the limit. We pull long hours into the night in order to get it all done. It means that we are getting up earlier and earlier. The bottom line is that we are not well rested enough. Your body repairs the damage of the previous day while you sleep. Your body uses the time you spend sleeping as a time to recharge its batteries. The average adult need s at least eight hours of sleep at night. Try it for a week and see if you don’t look and feel healthier, more alert, and more energetic.

Schedule some time to relax. It’s not necessary to go to sleep during or after this time. Make sure you take some time each day to relax and de-stress. You could use television time for your daily down time. Or you could go for a walk during this relaxation time. You can also choose to read during this time or take a relaxing steamy bath. The bottom line is that you have to get a handle on daily stress before it gets a hold on your health. Staying healthy and fit can be done in a number of ways. Don’t put yourself through hell or stop eating the things you love. You can work your health into your busy schedule without killing yourself. Work on being healthy and fit by deciding to live better. Make harder choices and smarter choices. Don’t be a couch potatoe. Getting yourself going is the beginning of a healthy body and mind and it doesn’t have to be hard.
